Perth & Surrounds

Pan Pacific Perth

Classics are classics for a reason, and the spacious, elegantly designed and centrally located Pan Pacific Perth has stood the test of time.

Not that it has rested on any laurels. The 488-key property is halfway through a sparkling renovation – already complete in most rooms and suites – which is making its well-proportioned bones even better. Guests can expect a fresh new colour scheme, decor that references Western Australia’s vast natural landscape and dozens of thoughtful extras (including one of the sleekest in-room dining systems you’ll find anywhere) that will turn what was already a key player in Perth’s hotel scene into something truly special.

Business travellers are obviously well-catered for here, what with 18 versatile meeting and event spaces, including two ballrooms (and a conference concierge to make sure everything runs smoothly). But if you’re in town simply to have a good time, the Pan Pac has your back. The heated outdoor pool, splashed with lively murals, is a coveted luxury in Perth, and a forthcoming upgrade to the property’s Más Vino Wine Bar, will make it a convivial gathering place for wine experts and novices to taste, socialise and trade wine lore.

The Pan Pacific is a classic, without a doubt. But it’s a classic with some very cool twists.

Need to Knows

  • 488 rooms and suites (Deluxe Twin, Deluxe King, Premier Twin, Premier King, Premier River View King, Pacific Club King, Pacific Club Spa King, Pacific Club Suite, Pacific Club River View Suite, Presidential Suite).
  • Check-in: 3pm; Check-out: 11am.
  • Rooms feature sweeping city or river views, and there’s an on-site fitness centre, steam room and pool. There are also a wide range of conference rooms, 24-hour room service and the option of booking Pacific Club access for a private place to watch the sunset over drinks and canapé

What’s There

The heated pool is open from sunrise to sunset, while the gym is available 24/7. As for dining, there are three in-house restaurants – Monty’s Restaurant for a buffet breakfast; Hill Street Sports Bar and Restaurant for good-times pub meals; and the Peruvian-accented UMA – as well as Más Vino Wine Bar, if you’re looking for a place to raise a glass. In town for business? It’s worth nothing the reconfigurable conference spaces are some of the most generously sized in Perth.

What’s Around

The hotel is positioned right in the very heart of the city, with everything you need on hand. The main shopping district and buzzy Elizabeth Quay are both a few blocks away, and nearby Langley Park is a picturesque spot for a sunset stroll.

What’s Super Special

The Pan Pacific brand puts a very high value on service and it shows. Expect warm, personalised attention from the moment you step through the doors.

Children

Kids under 12 are welcome at the Pan Pacific Perth if they make use of existing bedding. Rollaway beds can also be arranged in many rooms and suites for a fee.

Eating and Drinking

With its festive Latin American decor and vibrant Peruvian fare, UMA Restaurant is a non-negotiable booking during your stay. For breakfast, the buffet at Monty’s Restaurant includes an omelette station and option to add barista coffee from the in-house café, while Hill Street Sports Bar and Restaurant is guaranteed to be playing the game live and loud. It’s also a good idea to make a date with Más Vino Wine Bar, the perfect place to relax with a glass after a day of meetings or sightseeing. But don’t overlook the 24/7 in-room dining menu, either, which is easily accessible via QR code. The soba noodle salad is several pay grades up from typical room-service fodder.

Things to Book

The hotel has two Les Clefs d’Or concierges on-site, which means they hold the keys to the city’s best kept secrets. Want a table at the top restaurant in town? They know just who to ask. A private wine tour or a primo seat on a whale-watching cruise? They can take care of it all. For two exceptional experiences, ask about the Perth Mint Gold Tour, as well as the Willie Creek ‘Harvest Your Own Pearl’ adventure.

Notes

Más Vino Wine Bar is in the midst of a transformation, and it’s one to keep your eye on. As it proceeds, there are plans to introduce a series of vineyard collaborations, guided tastings and other vine-to-glass experiences.
