After a short hiatus, this year’s Good Food Guide is back and has jumped firmly into the digital age bringing WA’s Top 50 to an online audience.

The Top 50 are ranked in order of excellence, along with Top 25 Best Casual Dining establishments and Top 10 Best Bars with Dining. As always we don’t write for chefs or restaurant owners or advertisers, the Good Food Guide is a consumer publication, written by experts and providing that most elusive of things, expert advice. No inducements are sought or accepted, the reviews are completely independent of advertising content.

Our reviewers simply assess, report and score a restaurant on its merits. This makes The West Australian Good Food Guide the most trusted and authoritative guide to wining and dining in Western Australia. You’ll notice we have changed the ratings of each review to stars instead of a score out of 20. This is to be more in line with other culinary award publications around the world. Three stars mean the magic is beginning to happen. A well-rounded restaurant experience. Four stars indicate the culinary stratosphere and five stars mean perfection in every way. Naturally, we cannot hope to review every restaurant, café and bar in WA. We are required to make judgements about the initial review list and then which venue makes it into the publication once all reviews have been completed. With that in mind, this Guide is essentially a ranking of the best in WA.
