While Rottnest Island is known for its sun-drenched days, it’s fast becoming the perfect winter retreat for those seeking a snug getaway. There’s no better place to embrace the season than The Lodge Wadjemup, recently revamped and better than ever.
The newly unveiled Poolhouse precinct, with its heated pool, provides the perfect setting for a winter dip. The lodge has also introduced a brand-new restaurant and a dining experience at Sunsets Bar and Dining that’s all about local produce, innovative flavours, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. There’s also the literal warmth thanks to the underfloor heating, fireplace and outdoor heaters—it doesn’t get much cosier than that.
Whether you’re lounging by the pool or curled up by the fire, The Lodge Wadjemup is the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. And for those who want to make the most of the season, the Winter Wine Series brings together food, wine, and the island’s unique charm for three unforgettable events across June, July and August.
Blind Wine Tasting and Dinner, Saturday, 30 August
If you’ve ever dreamed of being a wine judge, Blind Wine Tasting and Dinner is your chance to step into the role. This interactive event invites you to blind-taste some top-tier wines, score each, and perhaps even take home a magnum of wine if you’re lucky. The high-energy evening will be full of friendly competition, good conversation, and plenty of chances to connect with fellow wine lovers. A sharing-style menu will ensure the evening is full of flavour and camaraderie, so bring your appetite and your competitive spirit.
Each of the events in the Winter Wine Series can be booked as part of an accommodation-plus-ticket package, giving you the perfect excuse to turn your evening into a full weekend escape, plus they have a number of other winter stays packages—in case one trip just isn’t enough. Spend more time unwinding by the heated pool, indulge in the mouthwatering buffet breakfast at Sunsets—one of Rottnest’s most stunning dining spots—and make the most of the freshly revamped rooms, designed for maximum comfort and relaxation.
Whether you’re here for the wine, the food, or simply the chance to slow down, The Lodge Wadjemup offers a winter getaway that feels just as luxurious as it is cosy.
