An outstanding wine from the very first encounter, there’s an X-factor here that elevates the variety and offering. Judges commented “wow, this has something else going on”, and “just beautiful, pure, fine and yet with complexity in spades” – it was hard not to have another sip during stages of judging. Quality fruit feels as strong as the currency, while judicious application of winemaking seasons the wine at a pitch-perfect level. This is a svelte and elegant expression, with a juicy, upfront balance of stone fruits and creamy nougat characters shot through with saline minerality and a general sense of freshness. The wine stains the palate gently and length is righteous. A standout for all the right reasons.
