There’s something primal—and deeply satisfying—about cooking your own meal over sizzling heat. And this August, Apple Daily is bringing the fire straight to your table with an immersive ishiyaki experience. 

As part of the 2025 Plateful Perth programme, the Apple Daily kitchen will be showcasing Stone Axe Full Blood Wagyu in all its marbled glory. At your table, five premium cuts—each with a marble score ranging from 6/7 to 9/9+—will arrive raw and ready to sear to your liking on a traditional Japanese black lava stone. Served with a selection of authentic sauces, it’s a hands-on feast that lets the quality of the beef speak for itself.

Raised on high-altitude pastures across New South Wales and Victoria, Stone Axe’s Full Blood Japanese Black Wagyu is bred in pristine, low-stress environments and fed a premium diet of Australian-grown produce. The result? Unrivalled quality and exceptional marbling—perfect for the delicate, flash-seared style of ishiyaki.

There’s also the option to elevate the experience: add freshly shucked oysters ($10 for three) or a sake pairing that features some of Japan’s finest.

Available daily throughout August, there are limited spots for this interactive dining experience. Designed for two or more, you’ll want to gather your friends, fire up the lava stone, and savour some of Australia’s finest Wagyu on your own terms.
