Pearle of Cable Beach
Just minutes from Cable Beach this boutique resort feels like a home away from home with a level of privacy, luxury and flexibility that could bring you back year on year.
For the traveller on a tight itinerary guest rooms offer a high level of tropical comfort, with outdoor decks that make the best of Broome’s climate and the lush grounds that are integral to the sense that this is a place to relax and retreat.
For guests looking for more space and perhaps a longer stay, villas of different sizes offer private pools, BBQ areas walled and landscaped for privacy, and large well-equipped kitchens for those looking to flex their culinary muscles while away
Need to Knows
- Rooms: The resort offers guest rooms (access to resort pool) as well as one to three bed villas (private pools)
- Check-in: 3pm; Check-out: 11am
What’s There
The resorts central pool, infinity edged and surrounded by covered loungers, is open to all resort guests. At 20 metres it’s larger than the private pools that come with the villas and many guests go between the two. The poolside café serves throughout the day and is perfect for an essential iced coffee lift.
What’s Around
While most people visiting Broome will rent a car, staying at Cable Beach can be its own self-contained stay. Visitors will often get to and from the beach and nearby cafes on foot or by e-scooters (which always seem easy to find). Cable Beach is Broome’s iconic sunset spot as well as home to laid back hospitality venues. You can’t visit Broome without diving into the world of pearls, an industry that has left its mark on local history and the towns cultural mix. A tour at Willie Creek Pearl Farm may serve as enlightenment as well as a bit of retail therapy.
What’s Super Special
While guest rooms are great for those staying a short time or who plan to be out exploring, villa options, with enclosed courtyards and pool areas, offer a level of seclusion that is all about easing into a tropical mindset far from city life.
Children
For families wanting space, the three bed superior pool villa offers just that, with a private plunge pool, large BBQ area, an LCD TV in each room, and a Playstation for children and adults alike.
Breakfast
There’s no shortage of great breakfast spots in the vicinity of the Pearle with venues like Zookeepers and Cable Beach House offering the quintessential Broome experience. If you want to stay close to home the resort café, adjoining the central pool, is perfect for continental breakfast and your first caffeine hit of the day. Leisurely morning laps optional.
Eating and Drinking
Broome’s food scene has seen a few new entrants over the last several years. In the pub sphere while there are the classic spots like Matso’s and Divers Tavern, Spinifex Brewery, just minutes from the Pearle, has quickly carved out a reputation for its beer, family friendly menu, and cinema sized sports screens – no fear of missing any of the action here. Date night doesn’t need to stop just because you’re on holiday. Johnny Sausage brings candlelight vibes and the brio of Italian dining. It’s fun and authentic from the menu to the mainly Italian service team.
Things to Book
The region is famed for the power of its tides and the natural phenomena they create. Hop aboard a flight with Horizontal Falls Seaplane Adventures for a morning you won’t forget. Fly over the famed falls (where tidal currents force through narrow gorges to create a waterfall flowing sideways) and take a powerboat ride through the falls.
Notes
Broome is a great destination to start, finish or bookend a Kimberley adventure, if you’re venturing out on a cruise or heading to one of the regions station stays. The Pearle is part of the wider Saltwater Hotels & Resorts group which includes Berkeley River Lodge, a remote, breathtaking destination where the river meets the Timor Sea. Look out for packages that combine stays at both properties.
