METT Singapore

Set within the storied greenery of Fort Canning Park, METT Singapore is an impressive, polished urban retreat balancing heritage architecture with a confident contemporary pulse. The site was once royal grounds and later a colonial landmark dating back to 1926.

The site now frames a five star escape where high ceilings, generous proportions and tropical parkland views meet a distinctly modern social energy. Orchard Road is moments away, yet the atmosphere feels quietly removed, wrapped in foliage, history and cultivated calm.

The lobby offers an immediate sense of warmth. This is an operator who understands the foundations of hospitality., The interiors elevate the welcome with fresh florals, layered patterns, deep greens, warm timber and cool marble. It feels residential rather than transactional, like arriving at the impeccably styled home of someone who truly enjoys hosting.

With 84 rooms and suites reimagined by designer Jeffrey Wilkes, METT delivers space rarely afforded in central Singapore, with outlooks across either the city skyline or lush canopy. Dining is ambitious and chef led, wellness is performance driven, and a forthcoming private members club signals a property designed as much for connection as for rest.

What’s There

METT Singapore operates as a social address as much as a hotel. Canning Bar & Lounge functions as an all day living room, moving effortlessly from relaxed breakfasts to evening cocktails. L’Amo Bistrò del Mare delivers polished coastal Italian dining in a space that nods to Riviera ease, while Art di Daniele Sperindio will open in early 2026 as the property’s fine dining flagship. HANU, also arriving in early 2026, introduces a modern Korean grill concept centred around tailored tableside experiences.

Wellness is central to identity. Two outdoor pools anchor the leisure offering, one with a Slim Aarons energy made for long afternoons. There are padel and pickleball courts, a high performance Technogym equipped gym and boutique studio classes including Reformer Pilates, HIIT and TRX. A sound healing session by the pool is one of several bookable experiences arranged through the concierge. Private changing suites with cold plunge, sauna and steam complete the circuit for both exertion and recovery.

Walk around the property and you’ll not only get in some decent steps (with incline!); you’ll also find yourself delighted by the Spice Gallery, a garden of herbs and spices with cues and commentary; the history here is rich.

In partnership with BYD, a chauffeur driven Denza D9 offers transfers within a five kilometre radius. For something more playful, a vintage Vespa sidecar experience delivers a cinematic spin through the city.

What’s Around

Fort Canning Park sits directly at the hotel’s doorstep, offering heritage trails, open air performances and green respite in the centre of the city. The National Museum and Peranakan Museum are within walking distance, as are Plaza Singapura and Funan for retail diversions. Clarke Quay’s riverside energy is close by, while MRT stations including Dhoby Ghaut and Fort Canning connect directly to the rest of Singapore.

What’s Super Special

It is the attention to detail that resonates most. Monogrammed face towels embroidered with your initials. Makeup towels discreetly replace them in the evening. Staff who remember your name and what you drank the night before. You feel less like a guest and more like a welcome regular in a grand private home where nothing is overdone. Sunset Hospitality Group’s DNA is evident in the front of the house.

The pillow menu alone is a traveller’s dream, offering neck support, contour, buckwheat and cooling options. In the lobby, a small stand sells Haflong tea and house made chocolates, a thoughtful touch that feels considered rather than performative.

METT’s broader distinction lies in its blend of serious dining and performance focused wellness within a heritage setting. Chef Daniele Sperindio’s leadership brings Michelin level credibility, with Art di Daniele Sperindio set to become one of Singapore’s most compelling Italian tables. The forthcoming Madison House private members club, launching Q2 2026, will add a 37,000 square foot lifestyle dimension dedicated to culture, fitness and community.

The Longevity Suite, arriving with Madison House, introduces advanced biohacking and cryotherapy rarely seen in the region. Combined with padel courts, design led suites and a park side location, METT offers a version of luxury that feels active, socially fluent and contemporary.

Breakfast

Breakfast at Canning Bar & Lounge is a genuine standout. Strong espresso is served alongside a unique spread;. expect trays of fresh figs, creamy ricotta, bresaola, smoked salmon, a selection of imported cheeses, marinated anchovies, fresh fruit and hot dishes made to order; best enjoyed slowly against the greenery of Fort Canning as the city wakes.

Children

The generous room sizes and suite configurations make METT well suited to families seeking space in a central location. With Fort Canning Park’s playgrounds and open lawns nearby, younger guests have room to roam. That said, the overall tone leans toward design conscious adults and couples.

Eating and Drinking

Dining is a defining pillar. At L’Amo Bistrò del Mare, the seafood bar is a spectacle in itself, showcasing sea bass, mussels, turbot, langoustines and Irish oysters on ice. It is one of the most assured Italian meals in Singapore, and the convenience of simply heading upstairs afterwards only enhances the appeal. Do not miss the “Ti Amo Su”, L’Amo’s tableside tiramisu.

Art di Daniele Sperindio will showcase the chef’s more expressive culinary language once open, rooted in heritage and precision technique. HANU’s modern Korean grill promises interactive dining with bespoke condiments and bold flavour.

Canning Bar & Lounge transitions from coffee spot to cocktail address with ease. Our standout at the Canning Lounge & Bar was chef Daniele Sperindio’s chicken and rice donabe; the crispy, sticky rice, lifted straight from the clay pot with a gingery punch, the chicken as tender as the service. Comfort and craft in perfect balance.

If you are venturing out, Sunset Hospitality Group’s sister venue SUSHISAMBA offers Japanese Brazilian dining with rooftop views and a lively DJ driven atmosphere.

Things to Book

Reserve ahead for L’Amo’s peak dinner services and secure early tables at Art di Daniele Sperindio once open. Book padel court time in advance, particularly on weekends. Arrange the Vespa sidecar tour for a spirited introduction to the city, sweeping through major boulevards with striking skyline views. Make use of the chauffeur service for seamless transfers within the surrounding districts.

When Madison House launches, schedule time at The Longevity Suite for cryotherapy and advanced wellness treatments.

Notes

With just 84 keys, METT maintains an intimate scale rare in central Singapore. The openings of Art di Daniele Sperindio and HANU in Q1 2026, followed by Madison House and The Longevity Suite in Q2 2026, will further position the hotel as a lifestyle address rather than a conventional stay. Expect a design forward crowd drawn to serious food, high performance wellness and a setting that balances history with forward momentum.
