Whether it’s quirky cocktails or creative dishes, The Standard has options aplenty for those with a thirst and hunger for modern thinking.

In the heart of Northbridge among some of Perth’s finest Asian eateries sits The Standard, offering food that draws inspiration from some of the same places as its neighbours as well as a playful drinks list that matches the relaxed setting.

Light, fruit-driven blends are typical of the cocktails: a Yuzu Collins with Tanqueray Rangpur gin is bright and zesty with elderflower and lemon, while a bolder barrel-aged Manhattan is more serious but equally at home in the sunny outdoor setting.

Inside, it’s a little darker and louder, but the bustling back bar and semi-open kitchen provide more of a late-night atmosphere. Rooftop spaces with city views and greenery are equally appealing. As for food, The Standard covers snacking and dining (see the banquet) in equal measure, with Korean, Thai, Cantonese and Indonesian and Filipino influences throughout the menu.

Dishes such as shredded duck with peanut, tamarind and a rolled turmeric wafer showcase classic flavours with a fresh perspective. There aren’t high peaks or low lows, but The Standard offers something for everyone pitched at just the right level to keep them coming back for more.
