The Standard does indeed set the standard, which is why it is our Good Food Guide Best Bar Dining winner for 2017. We can only conclude that chef Chase Weber is both restless and competitive. There’s no laurel sitting for this talented bloke. He keeps improving the food and, frankly, his dishes have never been better.
Owned by the affable John Parker, The Standard has captured an mix of ultra-cool bar, welcoming (and decidedly un-hipster) outdoor wine garden, slick service and pleasing décor. It’s the kind of place to curl up with a jug of martinis on a hot summer afternoon and think nothing but good thoughts. It has that effect. With Weber on the pans and Parker calling the shots, it’s no wonder this place rocks. Both are seasoned, creative pros who know their onions and love their customers.

The Standard is all about the cocktails – which are among the best in Perth – but the wine offer is no slouch either.
