A sunny shop that doubles as a friendly bar for wine nerds. Located at one end of the multi-venue Busselton Pavilion, this glassed-in, high-ceilinged space may present as a standard wine shop, albeit a very appealing one, but inside you’ll find surprise after surprise. Yes, there’s a lot of local juice here, but it goes way beyond the big regional names – smaller producers, both WA-based and further afield get a look-in. Step up to the counter and realise it doubles as a bar – on the wall sits a selection of glass pours for the day, arranged helpfully into ‘fizz’, ‘aromatic’, ‘mineral’, ‘skinsy’, ‘fleshy’, ‘pink’, ‘bright’, ‘juicy’ and ‘bold’. The knowledgeable (but anti-wine-snob) staff are delighted to talk options and be your best wine mate. Free tastings with producers and a fortnightly wine club make this a real community hub, and the ability to order food from the well-regarded kitchen of the adjacent Pavilion is an added bonus.
