Charming, eclectic and a menu that is a beguiling read. Sayers Sister remains one of the city’s coolest and most-loved cafes. Breakfast is the main game. It’s served ntil 2pm daily.
There’s the usual roster of brekky faves – egg dishes, muesli, fruit-based plates – but Sayers reputation was built on Mark Sayers’ creative take on dishes like coriander and cumin beans tagine with babaganoush, walnut pesto and poached egg. It’s a whopper of a dish too, with the heady aroma and taste of a North African spice market.
Leek and parmesan croquettes with creamed leeks, poached eggs, spinach and rocket was a stunningly constructed dish ideal to take over as brunch. Feel like a morning heart-starter? Sayers Sister serves up a Bloody Mary, Pimms and lemonade and an espresso martini.
