A down-south detour whether you’re gluten-free or not
For those who follow a gluten-free diet, Mano Wraps may not be a new name to you. The maker of buckwheat wraps and crepes opened in Busselton back in 2022 and has recently branched out further down the coast in Dunsborough. They’ve carved out a reputation for more than just a grasp on this growing dietary requirement but succeeded in making gluten-free sexy, or at least desirable. There’s no thought of this being a compromise for those who might usually baulk at things like gluten-free bread. That’s perhaps about the Mano experience, as you see the team freshly making wraps on a hotplate in the open kitchen and then filling their savoury numbers with slow-roasted pork belly, melting mozzarella, tomatoes, greens and Japanese mayo. That’s the ‘Italian Porchetta’, which is surely the most decadent, but there are also meat-free menu additions stacked with roasted vegies, feta and basil pesto, and a full roster to make your way through. Sweet crepes and ‘Mano Bites’ are available, of course gluten-free, and ok, sexy as hell.
