Almost a decade and a half in, this esoteric Subiaco bar still delivers left-field charm.

Conviviality flows with every pour in this corner bar, warm light flooding the room to a soundtrack of chiming glass and bass tones of laughter. Delightfully unpolished with an old piano at its centre and found treasures lining the walls, the space hums with creative energy. While you’ll find co-owner and chef Luke Foyle on the pans, the floor is in the steady hands of Emma Hymus, who counts King Somm and Balthazar in her list of credits. A well-curated wine list offers almost everything by the glass so try a few while ordering plates of duck liver parfait on crisp buttery sourdough toast, or a handful of salt and vinegar hot chips. Make your way through the crowd of good folk and, if you’re lucky, snag a streetside seat. You might find yourself ordering a bottle for the random table you’ve joined. Whatever unfolds, come to feel good and leave feeling better.
