Whether you’re inside the bright, convivial public bar with its sailing-orientated decor or relaxing al fresco, you’re just as likely to find locals having a post-beach pint as those who are more culinary motivated. The latter come for a menu overseen by former Vasse Felix head chef Brendan Pratt. There’s a strong pub-fare theme – no fear, there’s a cheeseburger and a schnitty – but see also a rotisserie put to good use, turning out golden roasted chooks, beef short rib skewers with bright salsa, and whole tiger prawns basted with housemade fermented chilli butter. Adjoining the pub, South West Wine Shop (see our Best Bars list) grabbed the limelight early on; their eclectic spirit spills over into the wider venue. Yet another reason to visit.
