Tiller Farm
Our love affair with The Tiller Farm began six years ago, when a one-on-one tour with chef George Cooper captivated us, culminating in a taste of his now-legendary (in our minds) “Chicken & the Egg” dish; a clever composition of smoked chicken, slow-cooked egg, and sweetcorn. Nestled in Western Australia’s Margaret River region, this 50-acre zero-carbon farm, guided by Cooper delivers a unique riff on farm-to-table dining across intimate dinners, lavish weddings, corporate events and exclusive ticketed dinners.
Need to Knows
Tiller Farm grows much of its own produce to deliver a low-food-mile dining experience. Chef George Cooper’s dedication, honed in Michelin-starred kitchens, elevates this destination into one of Western Australia’s most coveted culinary retreats, blending sustainability with creativity. Chef Cooper is creative, open to collaboration and a true steward of his land.
What to Expect
Tiller Farm redefines farm-to-table dining, weaving a narrative of place and passion through every dish. Chef draws from the farm’s harvest and close partnerships with local growers, foragers, butchers, and fishmongers to create menus that celebrate the Margaret River region’s bounty. Prepared in an off-grid kitchen, each course reflects a commitment to sustainable practices. The purpose-built dining room, framed by breathtaking views of golden meadows, vegetable patches, and grazing farm animals, captures the magic of Western Australia’s sunsets. Cooper’s storytelling, infused with his personal journey, transforms each meal into an immersive celebration of local terroir and culinary innovation.
What’s Special
Aside from ticketed events, Tiller Farm also offers guests the opportunity to experience farm-to-table magic through private dining. Yes, if you have booked a house in the South West, you can arrange chef Cooper to come to you.
Guests can choose between a three-course menu at $150 per person or a seven-course menu at $225 per person. What’s on the menu is kept a surprise until the night, but rest assured, dishes are derived predominantly from the farm’s own seasonal produce, ensuring each experience is fresh, unique, and deeply connected to the land. Once the menu is set, guests receive wine pairing recommendations to embark on their own ‘wine treasure hunt’ across the region, collecting the perfect bottles to complement each course—turning dinner into a curated, immersive culinary adventure around the South West.
Getting there
Nestled just 10 minutes from Bussell Highway, Tiller Farm balances rural tranquillity with accessibility in the heart of the Margaret River region. Surrounded by rolling farmland, it offers a serene escape. Guests are encouraged to arrange a designated driver or book a taxi service to fully savour the experience. Newly established flights from Melbourne, Sydney, and Newcastle to Busselton Airport make this adventure all the more accessible for East Coast inbound tourists, with Jetstar offering near-daily services from Melbourne (3 hours 30 minutes), thrice-weekly flights from Sydney (4 hours 10 minutes), and Qantas operating thrice-weekly flights from Newcastle to Perth, enhancing connectivity to the region.
Children
Tiller Farm’ dining experiences are typically tailored for guests aged 18 and over or budding junior epicureans visiting with their folks or adult friends.
