Year on year, Panther Cream (aged at Whipper Snapper Distillery) is one of Australia’s best barrel-aged imperial stouts. Emerging in late Djeran from mystic Margs, it’s also one of the most ephemeral – the annual drop evaporates upon release. This year’s chants molten chocolate, whisky, integrated dark molasses, anise and double-digit abv warmth. There’s cold drip and mocha and barrel-heavy harmony. Refined, silky, with a smirk of sexy oiliness, Panther Cream is outstanding.
