King Road’s IPA is a triumph of restraint. This could have been a bigger beer, however there’s consideration shown here, resulting in a beer that’s greater than the sum of its parts, and is perfectly executed. Judges praised its vibrant aromatics, harmonious length, balance and gregarious nature – “It draws you back,” they said. Pronounced passionfruit aromatics lead a fruity arc, with forward, tight bitterness building towards a moreish dry resolution. Although lean, King Road’s IPA is generous, each sip offering vibrancy and agility, with hints of overripe strawberry, peachy stone fruits, candied grapefruit peel, pine licks and sticky dank hints. With zero hubris, maximum efficiency and not a drop out of place, King Road IPA over delivers with every sip – it’s perfect.
