Made in Fremantle and sold in more than 800 stores nationwide, Urban Forager products are a WA success story, gracing the pantry shelves of home cooks who know the good stuff. They’ve not always had this national footprint, beginning their journey back in 2012 by selling small-batch preserves made from foraged and salvaged fruit at a fortnightly farmers’ market. Founder Lou Corteen originally took inspiration from her grandmother’s farmhouse preserving techniques. Flavour was key as was using simple wholefood ingredients and minimising waste. Growing the range over the year to include chutneys and stock concentrate, their Urban Forager Chicken Stock Concentrate is our People’s Choice winner. It’s certified organic and uses 100 per cent real ingredients: vegetables, chicken, herbs, spices, apple cider vinegar and lake salt.
