Le Rebelle 2019 Winner

To be awarded new restaurant of the year, a venue had to stop us in our tracks. It has to charm us, feed us brilliantly, be a noble addition to Perth’s dining scene, be centred around a concept that is at once welcoming and comfortable in its own skin, the sort of restaurant which – from the get go – knows what it is and presents as a fully formed engaging venue which is delightful.

That, in a nutshell, is Le Rebelle.

The Mount Lawley bistro hit the ground running in July with dishes to die for like duck – confit or roasted depending on which bit of the bird you get on the day – and fries with a house made version of a French fry’s best mate, Old Bay seasoning.

Butter is made and cultured in house, puffy gnocchi is made daily and the sourcing of products shine through in everything that flies over the pass.

Chef Liam Atkinson and partner Sarah, deliver great food, boisterous service, lots of love and a small but well-formed wine list.
